Design Engineer, Protection and Control-GE Grid Solutions
Location(s) Where Opening Is Available China
U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces
The Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
As a Design Engineer, Protection and Control, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
-Detailed study of customer specification and take over the project Engineering scope from Tendering
-Participate in technical definition of the delivery
-Analysis of the customer’s needs starting from tender, identification of the appropriate solution according to customer's functional specifications
-Design the most appropriate protection and control system (general arrangements drawings, control schematic, tripping and inter-tripping schematic) in accordance with customer specifications and standards
-Test activities (FAT & SAT), possible debugging and preparation of the technical documents related to the project
-Manage commissioning activities at customer's site
-Coordinate work of B.O.’s and external engineering suppliers
-Support in detecting claim opportunity & claim negotiation
-Proactive contribution to Project Engineering activities
-Initiation of validation process and creation of necessary documentations
-Maintain corporate database updated and use common tools as per company policy
To be successful in this role you would
-Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a local or internationally recognized university.
- Possess at least 5 to 10 years experience within the field of protection & control system Engineering and design, especially within 66kV to 400kV protection and control system design
-Demonstrate good hands on experience in Engineering design tools like, E Base, Elecdes, ACAD etc.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
