Role Summary/Purpose

The successful applicant will work as part of the GE Inspection Technologies organisation. The incumbent will be self-motivated & reactive, working to meet short deadlines. This is a permanent position based at GE Sensing EMEA, Shannon, Ireland.

Essential Responsibilities

Functions include, but are not limited to all/some of the following:

General assembler duties may include working with either transducer, instrument lines or cable assembly.Essential Functions

  • Working under a microscope

  • Mixing epoxies

  • Soldering materials as required

  • Specific duties will vary as assigned by the supervisor to address manufacturing needs

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Educated to Third Level Engineering Qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience

  • Proven years’ experience in manufacturing environment

  • Must be very detail oriented with an emphasis on accuracy

  • Fine pitch soldering skills

  • Neatness, concentration, and attention to detail

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task, strong team player

  • Excellent PC Skills including MS Word and Excel

  • Ability to follow assembly instructions (verbal and written)

Desired Characteristics

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Flexibility and understanding of multiple assembly jobs would be an advantage

  • Experience in light mechanical assembly and chemical mixing in manufacturing

  • Ability to perform tasks with general direction and drive to completion

  • Strong organisational, analytic, and problem solving skills

  • Above average computer skills with Microsoft Office products

  • SAP/MRP/ERP experience highly desirable
