Role Summary/Purpose

As the Electronic Instruments Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting all ongoing manufacturing operations and new product introductions in instrument production.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the instrument lean production line on all technical issues.

  • Provide project management for in-sourcing and out-sourcing initiatives.

  • Partner with design engineering team to improve process stability and product quality.

  • Work with the design engineering team to ensure successful new product introductions with acceptable yields and good manufacturability.

  • Provide emergency assistance for repair and maintenance of the instrument line equipment.

  • Initiate cost reduction projects with supply chain leaders and sourcing department on a continuing basis.

  • Maintain Bill of Material, routers, assembly procedures, test procedures and specifications and current standards for released products.

  • Aid in the design and enhancement of the shop floor control system to reduce cost, lead times, and increase throughput.

  • Provide technical support to all manufacturing/engineering departments for the production of electronic products.

  • Suggest and implement quality improvements in the instrument production area and initiate/participate in lean activities.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree in field related manufacturing or industrial engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience

  • Proven years of manufacturing experience

  • Willingness to travel globally as needed

  • Programming experience - Visual Basic, Access

  • Expertise in application of Lean

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving & root-cause analysis skills

  • Experience using Minitab, and MS Excel or Access

  • Ability to multi-task & handle tasks with competing priorities effectively

  • Knowledge of circuit board manufacturing

  • Non-Destructive Testing experience

  • Ultrasonics experience

  • Strong and demonstrated leadership skills

  • Demonstrated expertise to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization

  • Excellent oral communication, business correspondence & procedure-writing skills

  • Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others

  • Change agent with energy, passion & enthusiasm to drive change
