The Engineer will be part of the Environmental Control Solutions-Steam Power Systems-GE Power-Engineering, and will report functionally to the Project Engineer/Proposal Manager. He/she is responsible for producing engineering and design deliverables of his/her discipline, necessary for project and proposal execution. He/she is also responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the discipline engineering team, and manages and coordinates the engineering work relating to the discipline.
She/He has the autority:
To select the optimum configuration of the Electrical system based on safety, contractual requirements, efficiency and cost effectiveness
To select the optimum electrical equipment and materials to be used in the specific project
To select the optimum equipment and materials for auxiliary systems like illumination and maintenance sockets, heat tracing, lightning and grounding protection
To select the optimum cable ways and installation solutions
To coordinate with all involved departments (Civil, Mechanical, Layout and Piping, Instrumentation and Control) in way to select the optimum functional solutions for the installation and functionality of the project
To define technical solutions and workflows to be used by his/her engineering discipline in the projects under consideration of contract requirements
To approve technical documentation (including drawings) in project for his/her discipline
To decide and establish all measures in order to ensure good design and quality regarding engineering work
To manage his/her engineering workflow during project and tender execution
To define engineering documents of the discipline
Definition of divisions of engineering work between Milan home office, partners / contractors, other GE entities etc.
Development and implementing project planning strategy
Development and implementing project execution strategy
University degree in Electrical Engineering – Electrical Energy Management
Technical Trainings on electrical systems development and equipment sizing
Proven professional experience in design and installation of complete electrical systems (from grounding system to auxiliary ones), electrical equipment selection, sizing and tuning/coordination
Deep professional experience in engineering / design of Plants (i.e. Power, Oil&Gas, Chemical, I&S, WtE, Industrial Plant) on EPC contracts basis; in particular strong experience in electrical systems design (MV and LV), load flow data imputing and interpretation, equipment selection, sizing and protections definition. Ability to coordinate new electrical systems with the existing ones, in case of retrofit projects, inclusive of protection coordination. Development of Control System/SCADA related to electrical equipment and electrical system interface with process Control System. Team work and coordination with all related disciplines
Site experience (performing assistance in field)
Availability to accept assignment on site, abroad up to 6 months
Ability to read P&ID

Experience within flue gas treatment plants
Basic Instrumentation and Control skills
Previous experience, even if during school period, in industrial electrical installation field work (electrician)
Professional experience working in 3D models
Able to use integrated data base Design Tools (i.e. COMOS / AVEVA)
