Role Summary:

The Sr Technical Curriculum Developer is responsible for the consistent development, deployment, and continual improvement of engaging technical and solution training for GE Digital and its global channels. The Senior Technical Content Developer will be involved in all aspects of course development including needs analysis, high level design, detail design, course material development, implementation, testing, finalization for production, and roll out to instructors.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a member of this start up team, the instructional designer will help to establish foundations for processes, and overall strategy for Predix training.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop technical training material for GE Digital products & solutions.

  • Create & maintain lab images for standard & customized courses.

  • Work w/ other members of the training team & operations team during course development life cycle.

  • Collaborate w/ cross functional teams to develop training materials. Keep abreast of product development.

  • Develop technical training courses in multiple modalities (instructor led, computer based self paced, e-learning) for both internal & external audiences

  • Work w/ internal SME’s to become a Predix expert & maintain expert-level skills on our products & business

  • Create engaging learning activities & compelling course content that enhances retention & understanding of course concepts

  • Develop & maintain lab environments

  • Conduct train the trainer sessions

  • As assigned, design new customized training, develop the corresponding training material, & deliver the courses or technically support the delivery by other instructors

  • As assigned, manage small training projects (training design, course development, delivery)

  • Assist in creating certification exams

  • Pilot & test programs to ensure that training needs & objectives are being met & training design achieves desired results.

  • Provide support, as required, to the Training Coordinator for administrative tasks.

  • Ability to collaborate w/ & influence the Learning Design team to provide insights into content development & shape the overall learning experience for customers or internal stakeholders

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, including technical writing & documentation & public speaking &/or presentation experience.

  • Experience developing e-learning courses w/ a platform such as Articulate Storyline or Captivate

  • Ability to logically organize information & transform bodies of information into professionally designed, functional & effective learning programs

  • Experience working in a software/hardware company

  • History of developing & deploying training in multiple formats (eg. Print media, electronic documents, web pages, audio or podcast, multimedia presentations & training modules, distance learning components & deliverables).

  • Demonstrated high standard for clear, concise communication (written & verbal)

  • Strong understanding of training technology & adult learning concepts

  • Classroom (physical & virtual) instructional skills are a strength

  • Superior verbal & written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to take strategy & turn it into “learnable’ modules.

  • Strong knowledge of the following core development tools: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, CSS & HTML, screen-casting software (Camtasia, etc.), e-learning software (Lectora, Articulate, Captivate, etc.).

  • Strong understanding & practical skills w/ of IS/IT systems (eg. Server & client OS, Databases & client tools, queries, web technologies)

  • Comfortable in a demanding, IT-intensive environment.

  • Existing portfolio of training content created &/or delivered

  • Experience serving global markets

  • Developer-grade knowledge & experience w/ LMS & CMS Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university

  • 5+ years’ experience developing highly technical, cultural, or soft-skills based adult learning content

  • 5+ years’ experience managing technical course curriculum

  • 3-5 years’ experience with CRM, LMS and CMS

  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completedEligibility Requirements:
