As a member of the Outbound Logistics Europe team you will focus on commercial matters (details below) to allow the Logistics operations team members to fulfill their scope in the most efficient way.
Identify and manage Logistics Service Providers (LSP) in collaboration with Sourcing functions
Operationally manage logistics related orders, including bidding process ownership (RFQs, awards)
Own the procurement order (PO) issuance and vendor invoice monitoring process
Coordinate the vendor claim management and vendor recovery
Analyze logistics related cost and report to related functions (Finance, PM, etc.). This includes e.g. EAC management, budget definition and reporting, Cost Out initiative reporting
Maintain functional cost planning and execution, liaise with transport fixture manager for fixture related spends
Support the Logistics operations team members on specific requests for customs related document issuance, e.g. during customs audits
Lead Logistics PO, AP invoice, cost, and budget related ERP subjects, coordinate local system setups
Supervise Logistics related EHS and quality processes, incl. Non-Conformance procedures, supplier quality audits by SQE
Re-examine current practices considering changing business environment, new vendors and requirements
Identify and implement saving opportunities Qualifications/Requirements:
First relevant working experience in sourcing related business operations in an industrial environment
International logistics related work experience
Proficiency in ERP operations, preferably Oracle applications such as Oracle Races, SSS
Strong and precise analytical skills for cost reporting
Clear thinking mindset to understand complex situations and act adequately
Self-confident and persistent characteristics for price negotiations and vendor claim management
Basic knowledge about im- and export processes and document requirements
High communication skills with the ability to work with and through global, cross-functional teams including internal customer, suppliers, and service providers
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks with a proven ability to meet hard deadlines
Fluent verbal and writing skills in English and German Desired Characteristics:
Experience in working at GE, knowledge of GE processes and business operations
