The Mechanical Designer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
As the Mechanical Designer, you will:
Use PTC Creo to design industrial electronic equipment including but not limited to power conversion equipment and automation equipment in a 3D environment to company, industry, and regulatory standards
Follow company change management and drawing standards’ policies and procedures for all design and drafting work
Produce drawings including fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and required specifications from the PTC Creo 3D modeling
Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers and technicians
Design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques
Draft schematics using AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) and electrical schematic package (E-Plan)
Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for projects
Selects standard components and hardware for designs
Prepares bills of material, so that in conjunction with electrical schematics and mechanical layouts, the engineering package contains a full “for manufacture” package Maintains all manufacturing documentation and information
Interprets customer specifications and office standards as they apply to specific designs
Prepares schedules for timely completion of drawings and schematics
Responsible for revision controls ensuring all revisions are applied to final schematics. Organizes and maintains the long-term storage of models, drawings, and schematics for all products
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position)

Proficient in PTC Creo
Proficient or ability to learn E-Plan
Capable of taking a drawing responsibility for small to medium size projects
Practiced communication skills both oral and written
Practiced understanding of functional processes
Proven successful track record on several projects using drawing software packages
Understanding of SAP ERP systems for BOM entry
Knowledge of PCB layout concepts is a plus
Should be proficient in Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, and VISIO
