Role Summary/Purpose

In this role, you will provide specific Sourcing Finance support to Production Solution (a product line within Surface). You will be accountable for the validation and the reporting of key sourcing finance metrics including variance to forecasts. Partnership with the relevant Sourcing and Finance teams will be key to drive visibility into Sourcing dynamics and ultimately improve business profitability.

Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Sourcing Finance Manager you will:

  • Validate and report key Sourcing Finance metrics including direct and indirect deflation, rebates, TPS discounts, vendor recovery, Accounts Payable balances and base cost

  • Support the development of Sourcing Finance related estimates, Blue Prints, operating plans / forecasts / reviews, 3-year Plan, 1-year Plan; OP (operating plan / budget)

  • Support Sourcing in supplier interaction including make-to-buy analysis, approval of contractual exceptions, contract renegotiations

  • Partner with Sourcing, Finance and Controllership to drive sourcing compliance including but not limited to No PO No Pay compliance, 3/4 way match procedures, supplier approval and set up

  • Leverage leadership skills to serve as a true partner to the business in identifying opportunities for cost out and improvement in cash performance and effectively partner with multiple functions to realize them


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university

  • Experience in Sourcing Finance is a plus

  • FMP graduate, CAS graduate, PFLP graduate or MBA

  • Strong operating finance background with the ability to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change

  • Experience developing forecasts and operating plans

  • Experience working across multiple functions and regions

  • Experience with financial systems / applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, Hyperion, etc.)

  • Established analytical and project management ability; strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation

  • Successfully lead cross-functional projects / process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams

  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
