Role Summary/Purpose

The Process Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • We are currently seeking a high-energy, self-motivated and dedicated process engineer with proven track record to lead drinking water and tertiary process designs within North America, reporting to Process Engineering Manager for the Americas.

The position requires a combination of process design expertise in water treatment along with commercial expertise in technical sales and customer relationship. The position provides technical leadership within the Region.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Review of all final proposals and bid documents for projects for accuracy, competitiveness and compliance with design standards. Develop bidding strategies and design concepts with Commercial Engineer and Commercial Developer to win.

  • Develop process designs and experimental program for pilots. Review and approve operating changes. Review proposals prepared by Pilot Project Manager. Review and approve pilot reports.

  • Assist Commercial Developer in strategic positioning on key projects in Region.

  • Develop/maintain relationships with key regional consultants.

  • Mentor to Applications Engineers for process design. Stay on top of regulatory requirements within the region.

  • Present Technical Papers at conferences or seminars.

  • Review AO, control narrative, engineering drawings for all new water projects in the Region.

  • Document lesson learned from operating plants and provide feedback to Process Group and Engineering.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline with emphasis in process design and/or controls of water and wastewater treatment unit operations.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably 10 years or more is an asset.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and contribute on multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Desired Characteristics

  • Post graduate degree

  • Fluency in French (oral and written)

  • Experience in water and biological treatment systems (aerobic and anaerobic, MBRs as well as Fixed Film processes

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, presentation, influencing, facilitation, and computer skills

  • Ability to make good business decision

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups and customers, clients, and other employees of organization

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form

  • Self-motivated, ability to drive projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem solving ability with an unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
