Role Summary/Purpose

The Team Coach will demonstrate leadership in utilizing leadership expertise to solve problems, while developing & executing objectives for yourself & the Teams you will be working with. This role will coach multiple areas with many opportunities to demonstrate your leadership capabilities in influencing short & long term business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition you will :

  • Provide direction and assistance to multiple teams in order to meet assigned objectives

  • Work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning

  • Coordinate and provide technical, quality and production leadership to assigned Cells / Teams to meet quality, schedule and cost goals

  • Provide on going support in scheduling resources, technical leadership and facilitating the flow of hardware to meet customer requirements

  • Help to facilitate decision making in areas of process improvement and/or production to make appropriate resource decisions (manpower, machines, methods) to facilitate the flow of hardware through the manufacturing process

  • Support process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns and reduce manufacturing losses

  • Work with team(s) within the cell(s) and participate in cell / team activities to meet identified goals

  • Perform administrative duties to support the business, including timecards, labor vouchers, self audits, absence reviews, and missing time corrections, etc.

  • Coordinate all first line activities (i.e. Methods, Production Control) to assure the meeting of production schedules and customer satisfaction, cost goals, and maintaining the highest standards of quality

  • Coach and counsel employees regarding individual performance and development needs

  • Practice sound human relations and communications skills in order to engage & motivate the team

  • Review production orders and implement production schedules

  • Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and takes corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules

  • Achieve highest safety levels in the plant

  • Employ Six Sigma & Lean rigors to all functions within the cell(s)

  • Mentor and motivate team in safety, quality and productivity improvements

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

  • Prior supervisory / leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Corporate Training Program graduate (manufacturing / operations / engineering)

  • Six Sigma and / or Lean training or equivalent quality training

The Norwich facility provides product & design engineering, new product manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and technical support for customers. Major product lines include Power generation and control systems for gas turbine engines, metal encased ignition leads, sensors, space ignition systems, and satellite harnesses. Less than an hour and a half from Syracuse and 2 hours from the state capital of Albany, NY our Norwich location employs a multitalented workforce of 300+ employees who also live in the picturesque surroundings of upstate NY.
