Role Summary/Purpose

The successful candidate will be accountable for the manufacturing quality at the Newark site where composites are manufactured. In this role, you will lead a team of Quality professionals as well as inspection / technology specialists to integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within the functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition you will :

  • Provide overall quality leadership for the site

  • Partner with the site and quality leadership teams to define and execute the business strategy

  • Help drive the GE Aviation Production System (GEAPS)

  • Provide leadership and direction to the quality resources in executing the quality strategy for improvement in customer satisfaction, process capability, and quality

  • Assure that site activities comply with all applicable government regulations and contract requirements

  • Teach, train, coach and mentor site quality resources in the implementation of quality system and processes

  • Improve customer satisfaction / fulfillment, and reduce process variation through application of Lean Six Sigma tools and tactics, while reducing scrap, rework and improving overall cost of quality

  • Interface effectively with both internal and external customers

  • Select, train and develop quality resources

  • Seek, share and institutionalize best practices


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, manufacturing quality, or product engineering role

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Statistically literate and familiar with Six Sigma Quality concepts or equivalent Quality concepts

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to deliver effective presentations and educate at all levels of the organization

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
