Role Summary:

The CNC Programmer Lead will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals / programs / processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition you will :

  • Work in the Rotors and Field Machining operation, and support the organization’s equipment programming needs

  • Utilize primary method of programming to be done in APT in support of large lathes, Horizontal Boring Mills, and other CNC equipment

  • Provide NC Programs, methods and technical support to the Rotor shop as required

  • Develop tooling solutions, as needed, both cutting tools and fixtures

  • Use state-of-the-art manufacturing concepts, including just-in-time, statistical process control, and employee involvement concepts

  • Assist in solving manufacturing and quality issues utilizing root cause and analysis tools and implementing correct actions

  • Assist with operator training initiatives and participate in development of operator training program Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a High School Diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing – Programming Eligibility Requirements:

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior CNC programming experience utilizing APT and or Unigraphic

  • Prior experience in program verification tools such as Vericut

  • Ability to read and understand NC machine code (M and G code programming)

  • Strong technical writing ability particularly in the area of methods and written instructions in the programs

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Technical writing ability particularly in the area of methods and written instructions in the programs is preferred

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and as a contributing team player

  • Six Sigma training (GE Employees only)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
