The Logistics Initiatives Leader is responsible for leading, standardizing & driving logistics initiatives & projects in the Logistics Digital Thread space. This includes initiating improvements in logistics operations, and facilitating a strategic outlook that will better serve all stakeholders. The role leads and implements key projects related to transportation and logistics analytics and systems as well as improve tools, process, productivity, and compliance.
• Provide leadership on logistics digitization efforts, including, but not limited to dashboards development, logistics tool identification and standardization, and communication to/training of regional operations teams.
• Work with stakeholders to identify key operational needs, develop and deploy best practices and tools.
• Drive data analysis and business case development for key projects. Serve as a key resource in identification of new cost reduction or service improvement opportunities in support of Variable Cost Productivity initiatives.
• Work cross-functionally to identify improvement opportunities and implement successful changes.
• Lead change initiatives that will enable logistics to reach a world-class level of operations
• Lead cross functional identification of obstacles delaying realization of logistics initiative opportunities, and drive timely resolution within regions.
Quality Specific Goals:
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.
Proficient knowledge, understanding and leadership for International Trade Compliance, identify report and resolve any trade compliance issues.
Proficient knowledge, understand and leadership for operating within security programs such as CTPAT and AEO to ensure that warehousing, packaging and transportation requirements are met.
Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain/Purchasing process procedures and work instructions and operates within them to ensure compliance to quality system.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Engineering
Minimum 4 years of experience working in logistics, engineering, or supply chain management; OR minimum 2 years of experience working in logistics, engineering, or supply chain management and completion of Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP)
Experience in logistics or supply chain modeling & simulation.
Demonstrated ability to identify and apply logistics tools and methods that enable process change.
Proven business/financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time.
MBA or MS in Logistics, Engineering or Supply Chain
Demonstrated logistics leadership of multiple facilities in a similar industry
Proven ability to work on cross-functional, multi-cultural teams
Excellent project management, communication and analytical skills
Ability to energize, develop and influence at all levels within an organization
Creates energy to deliver company goals through creation and comprehensive communication of practical “hands-on” operational plans and strategies
Proven growth leadership skills demonstrating clear perspective and understand factors impacting GEHC businesses and our suppliers.
Solid communication and analytical skills, including experience with communicating with others from different countries and cultures.
