Role Summary:

Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) is a 2 year entry-level engineering program committed to the development of people with a passion for technology and a drive for technical excellence. Through intense technical training and a variety of business-critical assignments, technical and business skills are developed.

Essential Responsibilities:

Duties include (but are not limited to):

EEDP members at GE Healthcare experience technically challenging rotations that are driven by innovation. EEDP members are working to develop cutting edge technology in the medical diagnostic imaging, molecular imaging, ultrasound, critical care, nuclear medicine, surgical navigation systems, software platforms and monitoring product areas that support our Early Health vision. EEDP members learn how GE approaches the design of products and software through this program. They work closely to introduce product designs into production and ensure that GE's products/services meet customer needs. The core engineering skills gained in assignments are enhanced through advanced courses in engineering. Leadership skills are developed through corporate and local courses. Experience and training combined with mentoring and guidance from assignment managers, prepares members with the technical skills and values needed to achieve a successful career in technology.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Four-year technical degree in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering. Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 (based upon 4.0 scale). Knowledge of advanced mathematics, including calculus and differential equations. Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering, software or manufacturing. Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms. Strong team skills with demonstrated leadership skills. Must be willing to relocate to Milwaukee, Wisconsin metropolitan area and be willing to move as business needs change.

Desired Characteristics:

Preference will be given to persons: that have prior intern, co-op, or research experience in the design field such as hardware design (electrical or mechanical), Radio Frequency, wireless systems, magnostatics, diagnostic imaging equipment, patient monitoring devices, or life support system equipment, firmware design or software design/applications; that have a strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering; that have demonstrated an analytic approach to problem solving; that have demonstrated program / project management skills working on and leading teams; that are adaptable; and that have demonstrated leadership skills and community involvement.
