Role Summary:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer – Machining will bring process expertise to teams introducing new hardware and will drive process improvement for existing processes

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition you will :

  • Possess a comprehensive in-depth understanding of complex & highly technical manufacturing concepts & principles

  • Ability to translate technical processes and methods to train and empower operators and technicians in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability

  • Define and control production process(es) including tooling, equipment, methods, and / or process effectiveness for assigned areas of responsibility and / or ownership

  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product(s), tools, equipment, processes and / or methods

  • Resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent, Lead Process engineers, as well as 6 Sigma mindset

  • Own identification and management / delivery of plant, equipment, process, method projects / initiatives to drive continued optimization of product line, both established and NPI / new technologies

  • Ownership and presentation to internal teams on metrics, project status and research

  • Participate in the development of mid and long term plans outlining projects to support the business in meeting its objectives with a strong focus on cost, part quality and cycle time

  • Promote internal and external customer satisfaction and develop positive design engineering relationships

  • Exhibit ownership and take responsibility in attaining all aspects of production operation including safety, scheduling, quality, and team development in assigned areas

  • Plan and implement process-engineering activities for new product development and current product support

  • Provide manufacturing method development and improvement for current and new products

  • Determine safe manufacturing processes that produce a quality product in the most efficient method of manufacture

  • Assist Team Leaders and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Process and Equipment ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment Desired Characteristics:

  • Hands on experience with machining and programming

  • Experience machining hardware with tight tolerances

  • Aviation industry experience is preferred

  • Experience with high temperature alloys

  • Ability to influence others and lead teams
