Role Summary:

Full Time Regular

The EH Logistics Manager is the responsible party for logistics and logistics-related trade compliance operations on behalf of Supply Chain Chemicals across the hemisphere. They supervise all local internal and external logistics, distribution and transportation activities to ensure that the tripartite goals of legal compliance, timely delivery, and price minimization are wholly satisfied.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead a EH Logistics Team to execute logistics operations and logistics-related trade compliance for all in-bound and out-bound for CIS Eastern Hemisphere Supply Chain.

  • Create alignment between Supply Chain, Order Management and Logistics teams for optimization of supply chain.

  • Create a competitive advantage for CIS with best in class logistics.

  • Act as compliance liaison for CIS with Enterprise Logistics and Trade Compliance.

  • Proactively engage with Enterprise Logistics to ensure a coordinated approach for the importation and exportation of goods by CIS Supply Chain.

  • Provide cost-effective, timely, and traceable movement of company products both inbound and outbound. Ensure imports are REACH compliant.

  • Analyzes and recommends carriers, routing, and processing consultants. Develops, implements, and maintains policies and systems relating monitoring costs and efficiencies for these providers.

  • Implement Master Framework Agreements with customs broker, freight forwarder and other related providers and follow Baker Hughes guidelines.

  • Ensure that all freight forwarder, customs clearance company and other related providers adhere to the Baker Hughes FCPA Guidelines and Policies and invoices for same providers are properly audited prior to payment and retained in the relevant shipment file.

  • Set performance targets/goals for third party providers and provide reporting to management on progress.

  • Monitor compliance by all local logistics activities/persons with all local import and export requirements.

  • Supervise all Supply Chain imported materials that were imported with an export license issued from origin to ensure that license conditions and provisos are satisfied.

  • Develop and supervise a central document retention system to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Actively seek out lawful duty reduction regimes, ensure that such are used lawfully, and establish sufficient records proving entitlement to their use.

  • Supervise employees as they handle arrangements for freight shipments in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ensures that staff members track freight movement and communicate any delays to the customer.

  • Involve Legal and/or the Region Trade Directors as appropriate.

  • Travel as and when required to fully perform responsibilities and duties of the position.


  • Significant full-time logistics experience,

  • Management Experience with direct and indirect employees

  • Knowledge of project management in optimizing back-end processes, work flows and procedures.

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Extensive knowledge of transportation/distribution models.

  • Detailed understanding of IETA, IMDG, and ADR and any other special requirements for dangerous goods.

  • Familiarity with local freight forwarders and customs brokers, and typical fees, services, and rates

  • Knowledge of FCPA, logistics, and trade compliance policies, tools, and guidelines as they relate to logistics operations.

  • Knowledge of import regulatory requirements relating to classification, valuation, origin, the import clearance process, trade programs, and trade agreements

  • Knowledge of local (if applicable) and US export controls and economic sanctions rules

  • Knowledge FCPA compliance guidelines as they relate to logistics operations

  • Ability to interpret and apply import and export requirements to operative facts

  • Demonstrable management skills

  • Proficiency proficient in general operation of Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office software

  • Strong oral and written English skills
