Role Summary:

The Principal TPM for Terminal Products plays a critical role in the Network Optimization business of GET Digital Solutions by leveraging deep experience with railroad (intermodal/ automotive) terminal operations to translate customer optimization needs into clear product backlog for the technology team. T

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The TPM supports the product vision and strategy throughstrategic backlog management by defining the capability, feature, and userstory detail necessary for tactical execution and delivery, along with a teamof product owners.

  • Demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge and helpthe organization to gain the competitive edge.

  • Interact with customers/ stakeholders in VOCrequirements-gathering, fine tuning, and obtaining product feedback.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver capabilities,features, and major complex, products.

  • Possess a good understanding of the technology stack andimpact on final product.

  • Routinely collaborate with product management, UX,Architecture and engineering teams on issues and decisions.

  • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborate onpersonas.

  • Demonstrate expert persuasion and influencing skills thatensure alignment between customer, product manager and engineering teams.

  • Own the release and sprint backlog short-term roadmap forMVPs and quarterly program increments.

  • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order andprioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready.

  • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understandingand validation of customer problems and needs.

  • Demonstrate strategic expert level skills in problemdecomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.

  • Engage frequently (50% of the time) with the developmentteam; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance andrefinement, testing and validation; contribute to design activities anddecisions.

  • Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests intoactionable user stories and work units.

  • Partner with Development Leadership to ensure healthydevelopment process.

  • Mentor junior team members.

  • Provide technical leadership to TPMs across theorganization.

  • Working knowledge of Agile Methodology: Coachesothers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree business, science, engineering,technology or related discipline or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a software businessincluding working with all aspects of software product life cycle.

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a leadership positionwith direct experience with software teams, ideally in a software environmentor rail segment

  • Minimum 5 years managing large scale software roadmaps thatincludes working with external customers and collaborating across large,complex multifunctional and regional teams.
