Responsible for designing and implementing an automation test solution using JAVA in a Behavior Driven Development (BDD) environment and reporting results. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Contributes to quality engineering discussions. Owns medium sized quality engineering tasks; and delivers while mentoring and helping team members.
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
Ability to take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.
Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices.
Helps drive BDD practices across the team.
Demonstrates awareness or product positioning and key differentiators.
Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality in JAVA to simulate a user/source system environment for automated software testing
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate solutions and approaches to solving problems.
Skilled in developing JAVA code and test methodologies
Demonstrates an understanding of data analysis in large and complex systems
Promotes transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
Demonstrates expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Software Testing or Development
A minimum of 5 years of experience coding with JAVAEligibility Requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills

Must be willing to workout of the Hoffman Estates IL Office Desired Characteristics:
Experience in Data Science, or programming with large data sets
Experience in Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test Driven Development (TDD)
Experience with healthcare products / medical device products
Experience Installing and configuring software, testing environments – both physical and virtual.
Knowledgeable in SOA, XML, Microsoft SQL Server
Excellent organizational and project management skills
