The Healthcare analytics lab is part of GE global research software science and analytics unit, working in the fields of healthcare analytics and medical imaging. The work in the lab includes research in the fields of machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision providing analytics and AI for healthcare applications and other needs of the different GE business units. The work includes: use of machine learning for diagnostics, modeling, optimization and predictive analytics, data mining, cognitive computing and the use of computer vision for diagnostics and discovery.

Role Summary/Purpose

As a software Engineer, you will have responsibility for designing and implementing part of GE healthcare analytics. You will working with researcher in implementing analytics for health care applications

Essential Responsibilities

As a software Engineer, you will have responsibility for designing and implementing part of GE healthcare analytics. You will working with researcher in implementing analytics for health care applications

You will be working with domain experts, researchers, other software architects, and developers from GRC and GE Healthcare. Together you will identify needs, define architectures and APIs, and implement components for the efficient and scalable deployment of scientific codes in the healthcare cloud.

In this role you will

• Work with an international team creating a framework for analytics, simulation and machine learning for healthcare.

• Design and develop interfaces between different simulation, optimization and analytic systems.

• Design and develop systems for the parallel execution of algorithms on GPU, cloud and HPC environments.

• Enhance existing standards and tools to support healthcare analytics

Qualifications/Requirements

• University education in Computer Science or equivalent

• 3+ years of industrial experience

• Knowledge of cloud/internet back-end systems and standards.

• Experience in Python, Java and C++ on Linux and Windows platforms

• Experience with JVM internals and JNA

• Experience with multi-language interfaces such as JNA, Swig or other.

• Experience in developing distributed applications and cloud based solutions

• Benefit - experience with cloud/internet frameworks such as OpenStack, Spring, Spark, Flink, Storm, Hadoop, YARN, Mesos, HDFS

• Good analytic abilities and ability to define simple yet powerful APIs.

• Good communication skills

• Fluent in English

• Some experience with GPU a plus.

• Some experience with Docker a plus

• Willing to travel and work with large international team
