Role Summary:

As a Digital Thread Engineer Product Analyst, you will work closely with the team and different GE businesses to create state-of-the-art data and analytics driven solutions driving the vision for Digital Thread Intelligence. You will be a member of an integrated squad (data scientists, data engineers, software engineers and product owners) to deliver successful outcomes driving efficiency and simplification.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining, developing, and evolving data visualization related tasks using the latest development methods and infrastructure

  • Support impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design & architectural considerations

  • Act as a member of the Digital Thread Engineer team representing the face of high quality design & development practices

  • Develop high performing, scaling and innovative data visualizations

  • Grasp the essence of large data sets

  • Integrating multiple datasets and understanding various data architectures

  • Collaborate with product leads, frontend developers, system engineers, and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and product visions

  • Implement proof of concepts to prove out new technologies or integration scenarios

  • Demonstrate understanding of the Agile software development lifecycle

  • Break down feature requests into technical stories that contain acceptance criteria in collaboration with Product Owners and development team

  • Understand the scope of work and provide estimates and justifications when necessary

  • Understand the whole product, its modules, and their relationships Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualification:

  • Degree in information technology, mathematics, physics, engineering, economics or any related fieldsEligibility Requirements:

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with relational databases (preferably Oracle, Postgres, Greenplum)

  • Experience with Business Intelligence related tools (preferably Spotfire, Tableau)

  • Experience with ETL and/or orchestration tools (e.g. Talend, Informatica, Oozie, Airflow)

  • Exposure to financial applications/ERP (Oracle/SAP)

  • Ability to analyze business processes to suggest process improvements and develop solutionsaround them

  • Ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using theirdiscretion to seek help when necessary

  • Identifies opportunities for innovation and offers new ideas

  • Proving analytical and problem resolution skills

  • Experience in NoSQL databasing (e.g. Cassandra)

  • Experience with Hadoop and/or Spark

  • Experience with BI/data visualization tools (preferably Tableau, Spotfire)

  • Experience with version control (e.g. SVN, git) and continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins,TeamCity) tools

  • Good English skills (written and spoken)
