Role Summary:

The Welder will work at the Erlanger, KY Service Center to manufacture large scale, power generation equipment along with their sub-assemblies by following blueprints and specific work instructions.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Welder, you will:

  • Join, fabricate, and weld to engineering drawings along with written and verbal instructions

  • Follow step by step work instructions for fabricating any product or component

  • Be responsible for producing high quality work and craftsmaship for holding tight tolerances to fixtures and engineered drawings

  • Use a variety of measuring devices, blueprints and work instructions

  • Have the ability to set up weld equipment

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Flux Core / MIG Weld according to AWS D1.1. including a minimum of 2 years reading and comprehending engineered manufacturing drawings

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to work 2nd shift

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends, as required

  • Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to calculate figures, basic math and understanding of measuring and metrics

  • Ability to follow work rules, carry out instructions either written, oral, or diagram form

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to TIG Weld according to ASME Section IX
