Role Summary:

The Government Property Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as solution delivery expert for the design and implementation of assigned Government Property Management (GPM) Functions

  • Drive and take responsibility for operational excellence of assigned programs, with duties including project reviews, feasibility, cost benefit analysis, prioritization, initiation, execution and closure for all project work related to the program

  • Manage budgets and GPM Functions associated with programs or initiatives

  • Manage activities of direct reports and project team resources to support and deliver solutions relating to the programs

  • Maintain effective working relationships with peers and shops/suppliers to seamlessly integrate the program area into the overall strategic objectives and activities of the organization

  • Coordinate the program support activities, including the development of internal and external communications, establishing road maps and benchmarks, and developing training plans

  • Lead the analysis, requirement development, design, documentation, implementation and maintenance of small to medium asset management solutions for business processes

  • Support, advise, assist, guide, and resolve problems for client leaders and users

  • Work as a business partner with client leaders and users to evaluate / improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions

  • Ensure conformity to asset management business standards and practices

  • Prepare and present project plans, status reports, cost / benefit studies and recommend funding and resources

  • Initiate direct communication with specific customers, suppliers, clients, legal, contracts, and finance personnel

  • Act as a change agent for business processes

  • Coordinate outsourced supplier efforts as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • At least 5 additional years experience with asset management, contracts, IT or financial operations and their implementation into the business function

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics:

  • National Property Management Association (NPMA) CPPS, CPPA, or CPPM certification is preferred

  • Master’s of Business Administration

  • Additional experience using Six Sigma tools and techniques to drive change is preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Quality and cost driven

  • Established project management and organizational abilities
