Role Summary:

The Fabrication Technician will set up and operate a variety of fabrication machine tools and processes, including numerical controlled (NC), to perform operations such as shearing, punching, forming, stamping, painting, milling, drilling, tapping, and brazing. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high quality finished components that support four internal production lines as well as direct customer shipments.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Fabrication Technician, you will:

  • Use a variety of computer software to manage production orders, view drawings, and program machines

  • Layout bend lines and miters

  • Set up machines for a large variety of different components

  • Use variety fixtures, jigs, templates to ensure quality and repeatable output

  • Select feeds, speeds, and other settings on various machines

  • Work from 2D and 3D drawings, sketches, verbal, and written instruction

  • Operate finish processes such as Painting and Plating, requiring thickness and adherence test

  • Be responsible for maintaining tooling

  • Be responsible for cleaning both equipment and tooling

  • Perform required preventative maintenance and completing all documentation as required

  • Support our continuous improvement processes through our LEAN initiatives

  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience running large manufacturing machines (Exp: shearer, punch press, former, or stamping painting, milling, drilling, tapping, brazing machine)

  • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting blueprints / drawing

  • Strong command and understanding of shop math (decimals, add and subtract equations, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience working with hand and power tools

  • Applied ability to use various measuring devices in a manufacturing setting

  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing various computer systems in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated understanding of safety, quality and LEAN methodologies in the workplace

  • Experienced in the use of various computer programs in an industrial setting

  • Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in the operation of various machine tools such as shears, punch presses, brake presses, CNC's
