Harmonized Tariff Classification Specialist

As a senior member of the Harmonized Tariff Classification Center of Excellence, you will be providing Harmonized Tariff assignment governance, technical review and management of 3P service provider.
Technical oversight for the Harmonized Tariff Classification data utilized by GE for global trade transactions, including the conducting of validations and report gap/risk analysis and corrective activities
Reviewing existing classifications for accuracy by analyzing data supplied by global GE businesses
Develop a thorough knowledge of desk procedures; update and maintain procedural changes as necessary; and provide input for process improvements
Assist Global Classification Leader in managing 3P service provider, ensure adherence to statement of work, and agreed KPIs for classification
Prepare and approve responses to Customs requests and notices related to classification in a timely fashion (CF28s, CF29s)
Work closely with the GE businesses and global Customs leaders to identify gaps between current operations and the Standard and create integration plans to close these gaps
Collect, process and perform statistical analyses of classification data and metrics
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Global Classification Leader
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Studies or equivalent or minimum of 8 years direct Customs experience and 10+ years business experience.
Minimum of 8 years Harmonized Tariff Classification
Customs Broker's License
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access, if necessary)
Demonstrated dedication to compliance adherence
Demonstrated expert knowledge and understanding of Customs Regulations, Harmonized Tariff System and Explanatory Notes
Ability to read and interpret technical literature and engineering drawings
Strong organizational skills
Must be willing to travel up to 10%
