Site Reliability Engineer

Responsible for operational engineering of service(s). Contributes to the team and works with direction from Senior Team Members or management, beginning to work independently.
Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary.
Demonstrate the ability to help team members through pair programming and code reviews.
Has the ability to evaluate basic technology choices and articulate tradeoffs.
Applies principles of SDLC and Lean/Agile/XP/TDD/CI/CD methodologies to deliver high quality, secured, and scalable software services.
Skilled in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using language of choice.
Understands operating systems and networks and the tools used to diagnose problems and validate solutions.
Participate in on call rotation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 2 years of experience in the industry

Understanding of technology stack and interworking of monitoring each of the components in the stack. (cloud, datacenter technologies, application frameworks, APIs, Windows, Linux (OEL/RHEL)
Deep expertise in managing various monitoring solutions- New Relic, HP BSM/BPM, Zabbix
Hands on UNIX and shell scripting expertise
Operational knowledge of Windows, Linux, .NET, Java, other platforms.
Ability to lead and follow Agile Scrum methodology.
Project Management skills.
Knowledge of change management and version control.
Excellent management, leadership and cross-functional team building skills
Flexible, continuous learner and knowledge sharer.
Excellent communicator, works well in team environment, appreciates challenges.
Comfortable and effective working in new areas that require experimentation and rapid problem solving.
