Job Description Summary

We are recruiting for a Materials Health Leader (MHL) to join our Material Fulfilment Leadership team in Cheltenham. This is a people leadership role that will manage a team of direct reports that are responsible for delivery execution across a portfolio of suppliers as well as having accountability for driving material health into our internal value streams.

Our team is accountable for driving the execution of on time delivery performance through proactive orderbook management, supplier development and key stakeholder engagement across circa 150 active suppliers that span several value streams. This team has a major impact on overall business execution and plays a critical part in terms of operational performance at our Cheltenham site.

The Material Health Leader will be a senior point of escalation for supplier delivery risks, which will need strong and collaborative leadership and coaching to drive improvements and to communicate status/updates effectively. Experience dealing with and leading complex supplier recovery projects across a multitude of different commodity types will be essential in this role. Working cross functionally with the key stakeholders, including the wider sourcing team, this role will work to mitigate risks in terms of shortages and part availability into our production cells.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Direct people leadership of a team (circa 5) of material fulfilment professionals

• Own ‘Material Health’, which includes availability of product and inventory inputs

• Full understanding and monitoring of ‘Buy Part Coverage’ and ‘Orderbook Alignment’

• Develop and communicate supplier performance and delivery commitments that support the business requirements, working cross functionally within the organisation to solve problems.

• Leads others to find creative solutions to address complex problems that may impact the organisation

• Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis

• Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision

• Establish risk mitigation plans and drive accountability through effective action planning

• Ensure involvement, awareness and contribution to sourcing initiatives and strategy

• Ownership of daily team meetings and providing latest operational updates

• Attendance at site escalation and customer reviews

• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, influence others and lead small teams

• Work with Supplier Development and Commercial Sourcing teams to build on strategic suppliers

• This role may require significant global travel

Required Qualifications and Experience

• This role requires significant experience in Sourcing/Procurement & Supply Chain Management

• Proven ability in leading and engaging teams

• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, influence others and lead small teams

• Degree qualified

Desired experience and skills

• Knowledge of Oracle ERP

• Lean/Continuous training and implementation

• Previous people management experience

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing priorities

• Project management skills
