The Industrial Engineer is a subject matter expert used by the development teams to improve manufacturability of new designs which ultimately improves supply chains ability to meet customer demand and accelerates product introduction to the market. Proper execution of this role will improve manufacturing quality and reduce design changes during the pilot and initial production phases, and reduce product cost.
Responsible for providing ideas, suggestions, and input, at both the conceptual and detail design stage, that improves manufacturability of the final designs.
Responsible for confirming manufacturing related design standard compliance and participates in updating and creating design for manufacturing standards.
Creates ‘should cost’ details used for design trade off decisions and procurement negotiation data.
Creation and Maintenance of Manufacturing Documentation
Maintenance of the existing BHI systems like SAP, Workspaces, Document Management Systems etc.
Interface between Product Development, Procurement, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Quality
Establishment of Process and System Standards
Assists in training and communicating the DFM process and supply chain capabilities to the design communities, and supply chain community
Above-average university degree (FH, University, TU).
5+ years in mechanical manufacturing practices, with knowledge of milling, turning, routers and documentation reviews.
Demonstrated advanced problem solving skills with respect to Applied Mechanics, Engineering Design, and Technology Development.
Self-contained, self-motivated and structured to work within a worldwide functioning interdisciplinary team
Good written and verbal English skills, due to working in an international diverse working environment and strong interest in working with other cultures.
