Role Summary/Purpose

The Senior EHS Expert for Services will help lead GE’s services EHS programs in the region for all GE businesses. The primary focus in the region is industrial Power & Water, Aviation, Transportation, Energy Connections, and Oil & Gas. This leader ensures that the company’s regional services operations comply with regulations, meet customer EHS requirements, and deliver EHS excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

Leads the regional functional team that provides EHS support to industrial service operations including those provided by Power & Water, Aviation, Transportation, Energy Connections, and Oil & Gas; Delivers in-depth knowledge of EHS risks presented by industrial service operations; Delivers in-depth knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements in every country where GE operates within the region, with particular emphasis on requirements applicable to services operations; Runs the regional EHS Services Council; Works with EHS training team to ensure appropriate technical and regulatory competency for services EHS professionals and other operational employees.

Maintains relationships with regional health & safety regulatory bodies; Masters and drives regional excellence in GE EHS programs including Framework 2.0 and HOP; Represents GE regional customer and EHS forums as appropriate; Coordinates regional best practice sharing.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Enginnering and extended studies in an EHS-related discipline, from an accredited college or university (Safety Engineering preferred); 5+ years overseeing the execution of EHS programs; 3+ years leading implementation of GE’s EHS programs in a service organization; Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with GE’s external commercial customers; Extensive experience with regional EHS regulatory obligations; Strong ability to mentor and coach a new & diverse team; Strong understanding of legal requirements associated with EHS issues; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to manage/coordinate broad spectrum of initiatives simultaneously; Excellent interpersonal skills.
