Role Summary/Purpose

As BuyDesk Team Leader you will partner with other GE Businesses to execute on this key area within S2P You will lead a diverse team and work with other GE Businesses to ensure compliance across all operations. Drive transition, simplification and consistency across GE will be a constant focus.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Buyers responsible for operational/ tactical sourcing activities, inspire, manage daily work and performance

  • Active participation in selecting new team members

  • Establish and lead BuyDesk Operations functions in the countries/ commodities/businesses that they shall be assigned

  • Ensure excellence in Buying standardization in the major businesses

  • Follow internal controls to prevent Compliance risks

  • Drive a benchmark process to ensure that they meet/exceed the best in class metrics

  • Implement daily operational metrics and controls, and report out

  • Interact and respond to queries, internal and external as necessary


  • Written and verbal fluency in English

  • Significant Buyer/AP analyst experience

  • Some leadership experience

  • Simplification, Leadership, Compliance and Controllership mindset

  • Proven ability to drive team performance with a focus on quantitative and qualitative metrics

  • Effective interpersonal skills and highly professional style when dealing with business clients

  • Ability to anticipate and resolve challenges

  • Proficient IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel

  • Successful applicant will be legally eligible to enter into an employment relationship under the laws of Hungary

Desired Characteristics

  • SAP / Oracle system experience

  • Active knowledge of a second European language
