Role Summary/Purpose

GE is looking for a Communications Manager to join its emerging industrial inspections business team. As an integral member of the marketing team, the PR Specialist will take responsibility for establishing and maintaining relationships with the media, industry experts, external customers as well as within appropriate GE business units.

Essential Responsibilities

As our Communications Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining media relations and collaborating with marketing leaders in promotional efforts. You will promote the business’ public image both inside and outside of GE, and you will disseminate company information appropriately. As our Event Specialist, you will work with our team to generate brand awareness by making sure the Inspection business is well represented and participates in industry events. Specifically reviewing program materials, setting up/breaking down event booths, and writing relevant copy materials and handouts. The candidate will also represent the brand in appropriate social media venues. Get a deep understanding of GE’s product offering and product strategy for industrial inspection marketplace.

  • Telling the Avitas story externally through proactive campaigns to enhance GE perception and help the company achieve business success

  • Leading day-to-day execution of communications campaigns and projects that include media, events, content creation and thought-leadership

  • Working closely with the business communications teams to develop and implement effective programs

  • Managing and collaborating with the corporate agency teams on initiatives and execution

  • Acting as key liaison with the businesses on specific projects, media relations initiatives or issues management, partnering closely on strategy and execution

  • Providing executive communications support for different senior leaders as needed

  • Leading and supporting communications efforts around different corporate driven initiatives or projects

  • Liaise with marketing, business development, and sales team to develop product copy for internal and external communications, e.g., draft content for press releases, memos, newsletters, etc.

  • Create and manage owned social media campaigns (e.g., Twitter, LinkedIn), as well as create content for distribution through these channels (where appropriate)

  • Organize initiatives and plan events and press conferences


Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required

  • 8+ years of experience marketing software & hardware technology products and solutions

Eligibility Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in specific communications and/or event marketing roles

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
