Role Summary/Purpose

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.

Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Lead Projects Planning Specialist you will:

  • Lead the shipping shop operations team of eight employees. Work their staffing and scheduling issues

  • Use the Oracle or SAP operating system to manage the WIP jobs to meet OTD dates according to the backlog file

  • Maintain sales order backlog at less than 10% past due

  • Ensure all WIP jobs are closed once manufacturing activity is complete before any material movements take place

  • Ensure all single line orders or spares lines are processed on large sales orders direct from stock to shipping or test if necessary

  • Partner with buyers to meet the MOH dates for each project or base order to achieve RK

  • Supervise all cycle counts for areas of responsibility

  • Use the Oracle or SAP system to reconcile inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy above 98%

  • Own the backlog file and the rolling schedule for project orders

  • Participate in or chair all project related meetings

  • Cover for the other Planner as required

  • Uphold all company policies.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned including segmentation, and inventory re-purpose

  • Act as the calibrations planner for all orders requiring that level of coordination

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
