Role Summary/Purpose

The Technical Engineering Manager will manage the Technical support and design basis for the business unit equipment and facilities. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Technical Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Be a Champion of change to Lead a Technical engineering team and facility personnel to support every aspect of Operational Excellence

  • Manage and track MOC’s to ensure Safe designs, communication is made and training is effective

  • Manage PSM, Baker Risk, PHA, FM Global, Quality, Reliability, Incident and Audit action items requiring engineering solutions

  • Manage Capital project bidding, approvals, and contractors to execute the capital spend according and forecast spend to utilize funds wisely and stay within budget

  • Manage the Process Safety Information database (Design basis, P&ID’s, PFD’s, RV calc, interlocks, PLC Logic, Electrical one line etc..)

  • Ensure all new equipment and projects populate the database

  • Provide PM recommendations to upload into SAP on all new equipment installs

  • Developing engineering solutions and standards to guide the teams to execute specific program and project with significant business impact

  • Manage the Mechanical Integrity program for stationary equipment (Tanks and Pipes)

  • Lead significant incident investigations to eliminate root causes and drive efficiency

  • Work with the Quality Manager to develop quality improvement projects to assure a quality product is delivered

  • Partnership with the Global Engineering team in developing engineering standards and creating the 5 year plan

  • Establish a 5 year minimum evergreen P&E plan, developing programs, systems and projects

  • Define the objective, a scope, resources and funding source

  • Develop projects for a Vision of a Zero discharge facility and a Digital platform for automation

  • Drive efficiency projects to reduce consumption and improve manpower utilization

  • Manage and execute capital projects to meet the year end goal of capital spend

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience which including a minimum of 5 years experience leading multi-disciplined engineering teams
