Composites Controls & Connectivity Technician
Location(s) Where Opening Is Available United States
U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces
Engineering associated with manufacturing process. Positions requiring understanding of concepts, methods and procedures (technical Bachelor’s Degree). Responsible for connection of machines / tooling into Brilliant Factory database infrastructure, integrating activities for virtual manufacturing; sensor enabled manufacturing technologies, factory / supply chain optimization. Factory floor work collaborating with PLC Techs, Process Tech, IT Ops, Engineering, & Brilliant Factory Program Team.
In addition you will :
Work on brilliant factories and other IT driven manufacturing systems (Individuals in this area have IT expertise but are specialized primarily in Manufacturing)
Executes routine analyses using vested methods and technologies and / or contributes to technological developments in teams under supervision
Works together with people from the business unit
Contacts are under guidance and / or geared towards collecting or giving technical information
Works within a team setting and / or under guidance
Alternatively: executing routine but complex analysis
Coordinate and execute the connection of machines and tools to the GE Network
Receive, install, configure and calibrate equipment, servers, networks and other components
Use-test and troubleshoot equipment and software to diagnose and repair malfunctions
Set and monitor alarm functions
Manage access to the system
Manage inventory of equipment and software
Maintain all license and support contract documentation
Comply with all accepted change control procedures
Develop the communication protocols from the PLC and enabling data flow into their database sources
Create automation of data flows
Collaborate with machines vendors, GE IT, Brilliant Factory teams, and Engineering to create data tag profiles
Provide lifecycle management of machine software and communication middleware
Provide site level support to the factory for troubleshooting and repair ensuring maximum machine and tool availability
Enable a value-based culture that is data driven and process controlled
Collaborate and partner with the larger Aviation Brilliant Factory team, the Global Research Center (GRC), the GE Software CoE and other industry leaders to develop and execute strategic initiatives
Drive operational excellence, develop and implement best practices including the enablement of the Brilliant Factory initiatives from the Value Stream Brilliant Factory Leader
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( OR Technical certification / Associate's degree from an accredited school or institution in a computer science, engineering, or electronic discipline with a Minimum of 2 years of experience in related field, OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, engineering, or electronic discipline from an accredited university or college
