Role Summary:

  • Manages on site the civil construction subcontracts of a gas power plant, during execution up to the close-out including but not limited to correspondences,claims and prices.

  • Support the site organization in resolving contractual issues with other subcontractors.

  • Reporting to the Contract Manager Site.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate the administration of all civil subcontracts on Site, ensuring that GE’s rights are enforced, including issuing the necessary correspondences.

  • Administering all functions allocated to the Contract Manager Civil (CoMC) in accordance with the attached division of work matrix, including overseeing subcontractor correspondence and issuing correspondences.

  • Reviews the subcontract time schedule up-dates and advises the Site Contract Manager (SCM) and Project Manager Civil (PMC) on and delay and / or notifies the subcontractor, if necessary.

  • Reviews progress reports of civil subcontracts.

  • Maintaining event logs where required.

  • Develop and execute claims strategy with Project Manager Civil (PMC) and Site Contract Manager (SCM).

  • Monitor Non Conformance Report (NCR) management, keeps cost control and enforce back-charges.

  • Supervise payments and re-measurement of the civil subcontracts, including in final accounts with subcontractors.

  • Tracking all the delays, related cost and damages and disputed on Site, including advising PMC and SCM on possible mitigation's.

  • Attending daily, Weekly, Monthly meetings with civil subcontractors, taking the meeting minutes and advising the PMC and SCM in due course on any possible commercial issues.

  • Capture / identify the delays, damages and disputed issues.

  • Filing backup claim documentation.

  • Managing the change order process with subcontractors.

  • Involved in cost controlling and cost forecast to completion of the civil work.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Fluent in English and Portuguese languages.

  • Experienced in the management of construction work.

  • Knowledge of the commercial terms and conditions of the construction industry (FIDIC preferred).
