Role Summary/Purpose

This role is responsible for leading diagnostics & predictive analytics solution for RM&D system deployed for Railroads. You will be responsible for establishing data-driven, model-based and hybrid approaches to implement effective diagnostics & analytical strategies for improved product reliability. Demonstrates accountability in developing, revising and system integrating strategies for effective management of assets and health of GE products.

Essential Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

-Work with subsystem engineers and develop diagnostics strategy

-Define & update field troubleshooting procedures via the RM&D system

-Develop prognostics models for effective management of health of systems

-Implement analytical solutions to effectively manage field issues

-Model "degradation of equipment" under field usage conditions

-Support implementation of fully integrated solution for field service

-Serve as the technical expert in area of core responsibility

-Identify problems and formulate solutions

-Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound scientific / engineering principals

-Master statistics and understand how to implement data-driven decisions from technical data

-Manage projects to completion and share technical knowledge with group

-Generate alternative solutions to problems and take reasonable risks using advanced scientific concepts for product and process innovation

-Communicate technical accomplishments through internal documentation

-Participate in both short and long term projects and maintain balance to deliver on business objectives

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelors in Engineering ( Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics)

-Trained on analytics & usage of statistical modeling tools

-6+ years of experience in Product design, reliability- modeling & assessment

-2+ yrs.experience in prognostics with strong knowledge on reliability assessment tools

-Good understanding of Project Management Disciplines, Six Sigma Methodology and applications

-Knowledge of data modeling tools

  • Strong oral / written communication and influencing skills
