Role Summary/Purpose

The Sr Architect - Business Technology will provide infrastructure, basic expertise and advanced level technical support along with proactively working to improve the system health and performance. You will work with project teams to resolve issues, provide project support, and create and manage system infrastructure across the CPQ landscape.

Essential Responsibilities

The Sr Architect - Business Technology is a key technical leadership role within an IT discipline. The Sr Architect - Business Technology owns the specification, design and realization of the applications development for supporting the needs of product development programs within GE Power. The Sr Architect - Business Technology provide expert guidance and support to the development organization in various technical / functional aspects of research, development and engineering.

As the Sr Architect - Business Technology, you will work with the Commercial Platforms IT organization to oversee designs, code reviews and system health requirements to ensure a sustainable solutions for the Commercial and Engineering organization.

In addition, you will :

  • Work with application teams and business leaders to provide architectural leadership in the planning, design, development, implementation, and operation of IT solutions

  • Provide advanced level technical support, problem analysis, and issue resolution in the Oracle CPQ application interaction with support tools and integrations

  • Work with P&L IT leaders to define multi-generational project plans. Keep up with emerging CPQ and related technologies

  • Be a subject matter expert and advocate on CPQ current and future solutions and technologies

  • Plan and schedule system patching activities; Lead and support application upgrades, patches, and maintenance

  • Proactively work to improve system health, performance, and availability

  • Define technical solutions, explore alternative business and technology approaches, prepare functional and cross-functional design and test documents, and explain the business and technical architecture to sponsors and stakeholders

  • Coordinate and participate in system and client refreshes

  • Proactively work with project teams to resolve technical issues; champion closure on technical issues related to infrastructure, technical configuration, performance, and availability

  • Provide project support including new system installs and existing system clones

  • Support multiple businesses in a shared collaborative environment

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related technical field from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology

  • Minimum of 5 years of SFDC / Oracle CPQ work experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Salesforce / Emerging Platforms architecture design, application development and project management

  • Strong understanding of SaaS / Emerging Platforms architecture standards and components

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in highly matrixed environment

  • CPQ roll-out experience

  • Strong exposure to data migration and data quality

  • Ability to review solutions across multiple CPQ modules and evaluate overall process capabilities by providing written assessments and recommendations

  • A mix of functional and technical expertise including the ability to coordinate with Business Process Leaders, IM Project Leaders, customizers, and Oracle CPQ developers to trouble-shoot issues

  • Experience working directly with CPQ platforms to troubleshoot and resolve issues

  • Experience working with program management methodologies like Waterfall, Agile etc.

  • Strong technical skills

  • Passionate about driving change/influence across cross functions

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Highly motivated, self-starter
