Role Summary/Purpose

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible and accountable for delivering business outcomes based on stakeholder needs. This is accomplished by maximizing the value of the software product and the work of the Development Team. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for project success and is ultimately responsible to the team, stakeholders and to the company.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:

  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities

  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers

  • Drive a solution set across development teams (primarily Development / Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning

  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute

  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product

  • Own entire product P&L (including product revenue goals, cost objectives, and strategic alignment with GE Digital)

  • Own and communicate the vision and definition of the Software Product

  • Represent the VoC (voice of the customer), interface with and engage the customer

  • Communicate with all Stakeholders and translate business drivers to functional and non-functional requirements

  • Meet with the teams to communicate the vision and goals at the beginning of every release and sprint

  • Optimize the value of the work performed (Ensure that the scrum team(s) work on the “right things” from the business perspective)

  • Solely responsible for the SW Product Backlog per business value (ROI) - Grooming (prioritizes and sequences/ordering (prior to sprint planning meetings)

  • Assist with the elaboration of user stories and accept user stories

  • Participate in the daily scrums, sprint planning meetings, sprint reviews and retrospectives as needed

  • Ensure that the Development Team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed to implement a technical design / solution

  • Inspect the product progress at end of sprints and have complete authority to accept or reject work done

  • Routinely collaborate with teams on issues, applicability of functions, technology solutions, usability, functionality

  • Provide product demonstration

  • Communicate release / status externally

  • Have authority to terminate a sprint if determined that it necessary to pivot

  • Support the Scrum Master to help the Team become self-organizing

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of product management experience
