Role Summary/Purpose

O&M Advisor will be responsible for advising the Customer’s operations personnel on optimal operating philosophy and plans consistent with contractual requirements and ensuring a safe and reliable operation of the plant and equipment.

The role will assist the Customer’s personnel in evaluating and implementing the best solutions with a practical approach to meet the business requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

o Develop and maintain productive relationships with the Customer and staff. Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and strategies that address operational risk and performance;

o Advise and make recommendations to Customer’s Operations Team concerning the requirements for operations of the plant in accordance with the plant design, the equipment manufacturers’ recommendations, the Customer’s operating plans and requirements and Contractor’s recommendations for improving plant reliability and performance and minimizing costs.

o Advise and make recommendations to the Customer’s operations team on the performance and recording of periodic operational checks and tests of plant equipment in accordance with Customer’s requirements, equipment manufacturers’ recommendations, applicable laws and Contractor’s recommendations

o Advise and make recommendations to the Customer’s team regarding requirements for environmental, health and safety compliance management

o Advise and guide Customer team to implement a comprehensive set of operations procedures covering all aspects of plant operation

o Ensure compliance with requirements for environmental, health and safety requirements in applicable plant operation advisory activities.

o Ensure implementation of Log-Out/Tag Out (LOTO) System by the Customer in accordance with the Customer’s policies and procedures in line with provisions of the O&M Contract.

o Recommend Facility modifications and upgrades to the Customer to enhance plant reliability and performance. Co-ordinate with GE O&M Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, GE Engineering and other O&M support team for the resolution of complex issues relevant to plant operations,

o Drive optimization of plant operation strategies with the aim of achieving lower cost operation and/or increased efficiency and output.

o Ensure preparation and submission of plant Operations updates as per requirements of the contract.

o Support timely completion of plant root cause analysis for the technical events.

o Coordinate the activities of GE site Advisory team to ensure optimal availability, reliability, and budgetary performance while driving Customer value and GE/Customer productivity.

o Assists the training and qualification of Customer’s operations and maintenance team as per guidelines of the contract

o Advise and assist the Customer’ operations team for the analysis of plant operating parameters to identify potential problems

o Participate and support in the plant root cause analysis for the technical events.


o Graduate Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls from an accredited College or University.

o Minimum 6 years of combined cycle power plant O&M experience with minimum 3 years in O&M Operations Team Leader position.

o Proficiency in written and spoken English and French. Arabic an advantage
