Role Summary/Purpose

This position is responsible for providing pre-sales support in a fast paced Healthcare Digital Imaging

Sales environment. This role will be responsible for designing and delivering complex solutions

that require high level clinical, application and infrastructure expertise.

Essential Responsibilities

The core function of this job is to engage with new and existing account sales opportunities to

establish relationships and credibility with clinical staff and key decision makers at prospect sites

to drive clinical strategy and demonstrate software solutions. This role will also provide thought

leadership on the value of GEHC-Digital clinical software solutions as they relate to the clinician needs.

The Solution Architect (SA) role is expected to perform at the highest level, requiring top level

expertise with GE applications, in-depth industry clinical expertise within the Imaging world and

Technology infrastructure of a hospital environment.

A successful candidate must possess knowledge and expertise of the Healthcare Imaging

applications, workflow and technology within a hospital environment. In addition to a clinical and

technical ability, a candidate must demonstrate a sales focus and drive.

Clinical:

•Strong knowledge and experience in Radiology\Cardiology clinical workflow\applications.

•Proficiency with DICOM, HL7 interfaces, Vendor Neutral Archiving and overall Image distribution

within a PACS system.

•Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to clearly articulate a clinical\technical

solution to prospective customers, whether it be remote or in person.

•Must be capable of working across boundaries with several other functional groups such as

Marketing, Engineering, Service and Support.

•Responsible for designing complex clinical and technical solutions.

•Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and experience in managing multiple projects.

•Position requires thorough Healthcare IT experience working with RIS & PACS solutions as well

as understanding of Vendor Neutral Archives, EMR and Cardiology based systems.

•Responsible for clinical evaluation or new software, options, systems before release.

•Responsible for dissemination of information on Clinical trends, new procedures and new

products or options.

•Educate and train sales teams on GE Healthcare product positioning in the context of evolving

market needs and clinical needs

Technical:

This position will be responsible for specializing in various technical infrastructure product lines

and have a general working competency of all technology products offered within the HCIT

portfolio. Certification requirements will be established for each technology specialization for this

position. Configuration and system design capabilities are also an essential proficiency for this

position. The ability to design complex technological solutions and clearly communicate data flow

requirements is a must.

•Storage technology design & experience with SAN, NAS, CAS and direct attached solutions

•Database architecture and other 3rd party software product knowledge

•WinTel based Server based products and technology

•IP networking and switching technologies

•Virtualization concepts and system design

Sales Focus:

•Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the sales cycle to research the customer’s

environment and determine the business fit with GE Healthcare IT Solutions, including apply sales

methodology to interviewing clinicians at customer sites to gain understanding of workflow, finding

opportunities for improvement and establishing business fit.

•Work as an integral part of the sales team to attain quota and revenue.

•Provide technical and clinical leadership during sales process by demonstrating full range of

product features including potential uses, product capabilities and benefits to customers as

needed

•Establishes strong rapport with prospects/clients and establishes self as an expert in the opinion

of the prospect/client.

•Create personalized presentations based on knowledge gained about the customer.

•Demonstrates how GE solutions can improve the customer's business environment.

•Accompanies prospects on site visits to existing customer sites to help the prospect understand

Qualifications/Requirements

•At least one of the following core experiences: 5+ years’ experience in an ambulatory or hospital

setting and at least 3+ years commercial applications/demonstration experience with

demonstrated successes in high level customer interactions and sales scenarios.

•3+ years’ experience working with healthcare IT software products.

•Proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products

•Willingness to travel 30%, occasionally on short notice

•Unrestricted work authorization in the US, without sponsorship

•Willingness to submit to and pass a drug test and educational, employment and criminal

background checks

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

•Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in related business or technical/clinical field (MA, LPN, RN)

•In-depth knowledge of how healthcare is practiced today, particularly in large, complex, multihospital

organizations such as academic medical centers and integrated delivery networks,

including intensive care units, hospital wards, emergency departments, and ambulatory facilities

•Strong understanding of health informatics. Hands-on experience with healthcare software

•Knowledge all facets of healthcare, including hospitals and IDN's, ambulatory, large group

practices, university practice plans, health plans, and enterprise organizations.

•Ability to self-initiate tasks/projects.

•Ability to work under pressure.

•Strong leadership skills (respected by peers and leadership for contributions to the business)

•Strong presentation skills (public speaking and lecture experience desired)

•Demonstrated ability to understand and present complex material in understandable terms

•Demonstrated interpersonal & communication skills (ability to effectively communicate, verbally

and in writing, to external customers, global counterparts and to team members in other functional

organizations)

•Solid problem solving skills (ability to manage and resolve conflict, communicate issues and

propose solutions to both internal team members and external customers)

•Proven professional business acumen (experience interfacing with both internal team members

and external customers as a part of a solution-based sales process)

•Self-motivated, willingness to take the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and take

actions to improve

•Team oriented with a customer satisfaction mindset

•Ability to multitask effectively and manage multiple priorities at one time

•Willingness to be flexible/adapt to changing work environments

•Clinical experience in a hospital/university or clinic setting

•Advanced certification/registries desired
